Samuel Moffatt, born 1788 in Killashee, Co. Longford probably joined Irish Constabulary around 1815. In baptisms of his children found in 1831 in Streete, Westmeath, listed as "policeman", and in 1834 in Carrick Civil Parish, Co. Kildare (Carbury C of I Parish) he is listed as "policeman".  Any help in tracking down a reference to him so I can order a file with mention of him would be very greatly appreciated.  He emigrated to Canada 1837. Thanks - Tom Moffatt
