  (19) Divulging any matter or thing which it may be his duty to keep secret.
  (20) Knowing where any offender shall be residing or concealed, and failing to inform a superior immediately of the same.
  (21) Failing to take due and prompt measures for the arrest of any offander.
  (22) Wilfully or through negligence allowing any prisoner to escape.
  (23) Treating any prisoner or other person cruelly, harshly, or with unnecessary violence.
  (24) Wearing any party emblem, or otherwise manifesting political partisanship.
  (25) Wearing any medal or badge whatever, without authority from the Inspector General.
  (26) Being convicted of any offence by a court of justice.
  (27) Incurring and refusing or neglecting to pay any lawful debt, or being found to have been in dept when entering the Force,or becoming a bankrupt.
  (28) Borrowing money directly or indirectly from or through any member of the Force of inferior rank. (See section 1166.)
  (29) Borrowing money from, or being under any pecuniary or other obligation to a publican, beer retailer, or spirit grocer. (See section 1169.)
  (30) Gambling.
  (31) Making any anonymous complaint to the Government or the Inspector General.
  (32) Communicating,without the Inspector General's authority, either directly or indirectly, to the public press any matter or thing touching the Force.
  (33) Leaving any post when placed there as a sentry or on other duty.
  (34) Absence from county, district, or quarters without leave.
  (35) Unnecessary separation when on duty.
  (36) Prevarication before any court or any inquiry.
  (37) Behaving in a scandalous or infamous manner, or being guiliy of profane,immoral,or disgraceful conduct.
  (38) Entering a public house while on duty ,not being required there by any duty.
  (39) Marrying without leave.
  (40) Violating any standing order or regulation, or any order or regulation hereafter to be made.
  (41) By any concealment or wilful omission, or otherwise, attempting to evade the true spirit and meaning of the orders and regulations of the Force.
  (42) Any act, conduct, disorder, or neglect to the prejudice of good order, morality or discipline,though not specified in these regulations.
  












  

1212. Liability of County Inspector. If any man who has been fined, is allowed to leave the Force, without paying the whole amount thereof, the County Insprctor concerned will be called upon to make it good. When, however, a man is paid off on dismissal, discharge for misconduct, or compulsory resignation, no portion of any disciplinary fine, which may be outstanding after he signed the last pay list is to be deducted from his pay. On the death of any man who has not paid in full any fine imposed on him, the balance of the fine due is thereby discharged, and no deduction for it is therefore to be made.(See sec.1238)
       
1213. Publichouses. While members of the Force are not absolutely prohibited from entering a publichouse when not on duty, any general abuse of the privilege will lead to its withdrawal.
                
1214. The District Inspector may at any time, subject to the subsequent approval of the County Inspector,to whom he must at once report, place a qualified or absolute restriction affecting localities, particular houses, or individuals,on the exercise of this privilege. Men of the Force are strongly recommended not to avail themselves of the permission to drink in publichouses when off duty, except where they require refreshment on a journey. Frequenting hotels  and publichouses in the place where stationed, for the purpose of drinking, is disereditable to any member of the Force who does so.
     
1215. Neglect of Magistrate's Orders. District Inspectors, Head and other Constables, neglecting to obey the lawful orders, warrants, and commands of a magistrate, are liable to a penalty of £5-(6 Wm.iv., cap.13.sec.15 and 19).
             
1216. Neglect to give up Arms. Any Head Constable, Sergeant, Acting Sergeant, or Constable, who being dismissed, or ceasing to hold and exercise his office, shall not within one week give up his arms,clothing,etc,is liable to two months' imprisonment with hard labour-(see.20 of the above-recited Act.)
                   
1217. Suspension of Offenders. In cases of any gross act of insubordination, the County Inspector may order that offender be suspended from duty until the directions of the Inspector General shall be received. Where a member of the Force has been returned for trial on a criminal charge, he should at once be suspended from duty. Men under suspension should not be allowed to appear in uniform.
     
1218. Men of the Force committed to Prison. Men of the Force, when committed to prison, will, in general receive no pay from the day of their committal, during the period of their confinement, and if found guilty, and dismissed from the Force for the crime for which they were committed, such pay shall remain undrawn; but if acquitted of the charge on which they were committed, and not dismissed from the Force in consequence of any evidence that shall have appeared on their trial, they will be entitied to their back pay; and the wives and children of married men who are imprisoned, and who are in barracks at the period of their husbands' committal, will be allowed to remain in barracks until their husbands' cases be disposed of. 

1224. Charge of Drunkenness when required for duty. A member of the Force should not be reported upon the charge of being "drunk when required for duty" unless it can be shown that he had been warned for or had sufficient reason to know thet he would be so required for duty.
    
1225. Drinking. The Constabulary are not to accept drink from any person. If they require refreshment, they should purchaseit, and when practicable take it in their barracks, and not in at a publichouse.
                
1226. Officers should do all in their power by example, admonition, and precautionary measures, to prevent intemperance amongest their men.
    
1227. Reproof. Officers are to avoid reproving Head Constables, Sergeants, or Acting Sergeants for any irregularity, neglect of duty, etc, in the presence or hearing of the Contables (unless it shall be necessary for the benefit of the example that the reproof be public be public), lest their authority should be weakened; Officers, Head Constables, Sergeants,and Acting Sergeants, when reproving subordinates should do so in a proper manner, and in becoming language. No abusive language or epithets should be used.
                              
1228.Men on Temporary Service. If men who are on temporary service out of their county (or from theReserve) commit minor offences against discipline, the case is to be sent to the Commandant or their own County Inspector (who is in possession of the men's records) for the imposition of such penalty as may be deemed right. In case of the commission of graver offences, the reports are to be forwarded to headquarters through the County Inspector of the county to which the men belong, in order thet the statement of service, records, etc., may be by him affixed.
