721. Object, &c, of The Fund
(a) The Burial Fund was founded, under the authority of the Lord Lieutenant, in 1891, and an account, under the above title is kept in connection there within the Bank of Ireland.
(b) The income of the Fund is derived from one, moiety of the net profits arising from the sale of ale and porter in the Canteen at the Depot, which moiety is lodged monthly in the Bank of Ireland to the credit of the Fund,and from dividends on sums invested.
(e) The expenditure consists of grants in aid of the funeral expenses of Head, and other, Constables, who die while serving.
722. Amount of each Grant - The amount of the grant is the same in every case, but is subject to variation from time to time, according to the financial condition of the Fund. The amount paid at present, as sanctioned by the Lord Lieutenant, is £4 in each case.
723. Application for Grant - The printed form of application for a grant from the Burial Fund should be submitted by the Commandant ,Commissioner, or County Inspector, immediately on the death of a member of the Force.
724. Annual Statement - An annual statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Burial Fund is to be published, for the information of the Force, after the close of each financial year.
(Note moiety = half, a small share.)
