I do not have exact dates other than transfers on marriage. Christopher was in Fenit and Ardfert (my father was born in Ardfert) before moving to Tralee. He was in Tralee in 1911 and was there during Roger Casements arrest. His son (my uncle) Jackie Ryan won 6 All Ireland football medals with Kerry.

Michael Joseph was in West Cork but I can only trace Leap and do not have exact dates. I traced a court case there (Pub). He married Sept 1897 and was transferred to Kenmare , then to Derrycunnihy on promotion (there in 1911).  I am told that he ended up in Listowel. If so he was there during the mutiny as he resigned on 9/9/1920. Coincidence here as my brother Michael Joseph was a Garda in Listowel for 40 years.

James was in Kilsheelan and Clonea until marriage in 1906. He was then transferred to Clogheen and to Hollyford on promotion in 1913. He had to resign on health grounds and died of TB in Cork in 1917 at 41 years of age leaving a large family.  His wife also contacted TB and died in 1924 at 43 years of age.

I do not have any dates on Maurice Connory. He married my Grandaunt Julia McDonnell in Killinardrish/Cannaway  1903, he had been previously married to Annie Roche from Mallow who died in childbirth in Dunmanway area in 1900. He was transferred to Limerick on marriage and was in Rowls Langford in 1911 as Sergeant.

All four were sergeants. My own family had 5 serving Garda members at the same time in the 1960s - My father Pat Ryan and four of my brothers, Michael J, Christy, Vincent and Bernard who was severely injured when hit by a car while on duty on Christmas morning 1967. He has spent his life as an invalid and was awarded the Liddy Medal.

According to data supplied by Jim Herlihy my Michael Joseph Ryan was promoted A/Sgt on 1/2/1906 and to Sgt on 1/1/1912. However I have had to question a few things Jim supplied without success. I think there were only 2 Michael Js in the RIC and it would be an unbelievable coincidence if they were serving as Sgts in adjacent towns/villages. I notice you mentioned Michael JAMES, was this just a slip? I got a cutting from Irish Times re Sgt M J Ryan arresting a man in Newtownsandes for a murder in Listowel in 1912.
Re the chemists list, I am trying to figure out is it Tralee or elsewhere. It could also be my Grandfather Christopher who was Sgt in Tralee at the same time. Just spotted the obvious now, the MJRyan in NTSandes was a Sgt in Dec 1912. My MJ was promoted to Sgt earlier that year and it has to be him.

I have now discovered that he was not promoted to A/Sgt until Feb 1910. 

William, the younger brother of Christopher, Michael J and James was drowned  in 1918 when the "Inniscarra" was torpedoed by a German submarine.
