From
mid-October 1920 this company of Auxiliaries were stationed at the residence of The MacDermot at
Coolavin, south Sligo, but after a month there
the company moved to Boyle probably because of representations by the family.

That's an interesting addition. Do you have a reference for this, like a local newspaper report or suchlike? Its good to be able to establish the timelines around these movements.

Charles MacDermot, ‘A summer holiday at Coolavin’, Echoes of Ballaghaderreen, 22 (2007), p. 7; The Auxiliaries occupied the house around 14 October. Major Dudley was said to be the O/C. The Auxiliaries left Coolavin on or about 11 November and took up residence in Boyle. The McDermot who owned Coolavin house was the Vice-Chairman of the General Prisons Board, Ireland at the time and presumably used his influence to have the Auxiliaries moved. These Auxiliaries took part in the house burnings after the Moneygold/Cliffoney ambush in October 1920.

Charles Macdermot's influence seem to have worked they may have moved to Boyle on the 11th of Nov but also on the 26th and 27th of Nov 36 of them were transferred to cork and were the main compliment that formed K coy and were responsible for the Burnings in Cork. (see K Coy)
