K Company was responsible for the burning of several shops along the main streets of Cork as an unofficial resprisal, following an ambush at Dillons Cross in which one of their number was killed. Head Constable Posts: 8 28-Dec-2011 11:31 PM	It seems that they nucleus of this coy was made up of personnel From E Coy. On the 29 November 1920 K Coy had an establishment of 44 After the burnings in cork the subsequent enquiry stated that the unit was sent into action precipitately.Its total of 44 at the end of November was made up as follows. 22.11.20- 3 T.C.s transferred from various Coys 26.11.20- 16 T.C.s transferred mainly from E Coy 27.11.20 -22 T.C.s Transferred mainly from E Coy 29.11.20 3- T.C.s one each from C,G, and J Coys They had only been formed the week before they were sent into Cork although much of its personnel had come from established Companies. Interestingly it does not state who was appointed Company Commander or indeed if they even had one at this early stage. Was it that they went into Cork on their own? this could give rise to the unofficial aspect to the reprisal interested in what others have to say about this Regards Martin

The timelines are very important here and I'm sure the ADRIC experts will be along to establish, as far as we can, the chronology of events. I have the statements and can add those later if required.
