It's interesting to note that on the same day as Major Mackinnon, who commanded H Company, died a Captain Mackinnon's death notice is listed on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Website

This is a coincidence. Major Mackinnon's enlistment form in the C.E.F. names his father as Farquhar Mackinnon, of Gorekpore, India.
