DEPOT HOCKEY CLUB.
The Annual General Meeting of the Club was held in No.1 Company Mess Room on October 11th, and was well attended, despite the absence of a large detachment in County Wexford.
The Hon. Secretay's report showed that nine matches were played during the previous season, and of these eight were won by the Depot teams. Two matches were also played between No.1 Company and the rest of the Depot, No.1 Company winning on each occasion.
The Accounts were read and showed a balance on hand of £1. 8s. 10d. The following were elected as Officers of the Club :-
President : The Commandant. - Vice-President : The Adjutant. - Captain : District-Inspector Leatham. - Joint Hon, Secs, : District Inspector Leatham and Acting-Sergeant Lavin.- Committee : District-Inspector Hughes, District Inspector Potter, Acting-Sergeants O'Brien and Begley and Constables Kennedy, Barry, and Kenley.
It was decided to enter a team for the Irish Junior Cup. Practices will be held throughout the season on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m., and on Saturdays at 11 a.m.
Four caps for good play will be given at the end of the season to the best players among the men, and one to the most regular attendant at practices.
The opening practice was held on Saturday, 14th October, when twenty-six players turned out. Some most promising new members took part, and of the old hands Acting-Sergeants O'Brien, Forde, Begley, Lavin, and Constable Byrne were well to the fore.
