W E. Crewe was interviewed in the late nineteen fifties, by the authors Richard Bennett and James Gleeson, who in discussion had advised him to record his memories in writing before they faded and vanished for ever.  He took notice of their advice, and in 1959 wrote of his time in the R.I.C. Auxiliary Division, the British Gendarmerie and the British Legion Police. This is his original scrapbook/diary.
