Sergeant Posts: 6 Nov 23 11 5:22 AM	My Grandfathers brother was in the RIC and stationed in Castlebar from 1896-1913. Would anyone have any photos or information from this barracks.I have the census returns. I have searched all the available websites for photos with no luck. While I was searching I discovered that Mayo County library recently held a Royal Irish Constabulary Documentry Exibition in Castlebar library.Did anyone go to it? It was in September this year. Sergeant Posts: 6 Nov 28 11 12:46 AM	I received a wonderful reply from Castlebar Library. 21 newspaper clippings. I have Edward Bradys life story in these pages. He was an excellentt Constable and later Sargeant. He also received the Constabulary medal. His age is out by 2 years according to his birth record. Posts: 1640 Nov 30 11 12:03 PM Inspector-General	I have his age as 22yrs 4 months on appointment in 16th December 1895. Does this match your records? Proof of age was required, it is possible there was a transcription error somewhere. (I'll delete your 'age' question in the genealogy section as this is a duplicate) Peter Mc

Sergeant Posts: 6 Dec 1 11 10:51 PM	Thanks Peter His age is out by 2 years going by his birth records. Edward Brady 57360 is definitely him as I have newspaper clippings of his wedding with other correct family details. His death in 1953 was a detailed story in the Mayo News newspaper.
