District Inspector 2nd Class Posts: 50 Apr 7 12 2:14 PM	Gents, I have the following quote on Mee from Pearse Lawlor's "1920-1922 The Outrages" pp. 136. It was Jeremiah Mee, a former RIC officer who had objected to Lieutenant Colonel Smyth's new 'shoot to kill' policy in Listowel back in June 1920 and consequently left the RIC, who now had responsibility for enforcing the Belfast boycott. He visited Portadown and spoke to the commanding officer of the local IRA unit to decide on what action should be taken against the railwaymen at Richill. It was decided to burn Richill railway station and bring an end to the relabelling of goods at the station. If the information in Lawler's book is accyrate then it would seem that Mee was indeed a very senior member of the republican movement. "I am not an Ulsterman but yesterday, the 1st.
