Constable Posts: 3 Mar 2 11 10:27 PM	Seeking any information about the career of Henry Brophy Kinnity Kings Co joined the RIC 1881. He was recommended by SJ Fulton ?? Station in Waterford 22nd July 1882, Queens Co 1st October 1884 , Wexford 4th April 1895. I don't exactly where in Waterford or Queens Co were he was posted. As for Wexford he was posted to Tintern New Ross and then to Kinnagh Ballycullane. I think he was promoted 1/10/1898 and also 1/1/1902 but I don't what these promotions were. Also I know that he and Mary Smith were married in Tipperary North Riding 1/5/1895 but I have not been able find out exactly were the marriage took place. He retired 17/01/1908. I have no photos of Henry - so wondering does any RIC pictures exists of him. Edited 1 time by tomahurra Mar 9 11 5:08 AM.

Posts: 1644 Mar 7 11 9:33 PM Inspector-General	It would be worth digging out these refernces which may refer to your man. Both refer to court cases that he was involved in. 1. Nenagh Guardian Nov 30 1889 - Constable Brophy was stationed at Ballybrophy ( a happy coincidence!) in Queens County 2. Nenagh Guardian Sep 4 1901 - Constable Brophy appears in a case in Waterford - looks like he was in Waterford City. I did a quick serach in the census but didn't find him but only spent a minute on that, so you may have more luck-and more time. Peter Mc

Constable Posts: 3 Mar 7 11 10:14 PM	Thanks had no idea where he was based in Waterford or Queens Co. I know that he was station in Tintern Co Wexford at the time of 1901 census. Have looked up his service records in the National Archives but it does not state the location where he was based only the County's. Do you know is there a more detail service record somewhere. The fact that he was made Sergerant would he have to have sat exams?
