I noticed in the Facebook site that a few personnel in the pictures have the same case at the belts. I also noticed a similar open tunic look in the following pictures:

I think, from an ancestor's marriage cert that D.C. may be Daniel Carey, Const. He was best man at his colleague Finton Kirwan's (58904) wedding on 17th Feb 1912.

Entering R I C as occupation also works, tho apart from pensioners, you also get strange returns of other initials like railwaymen (G N R), graduates (R U I), even chemists!
I've tried ranks like constable, const, sergeant & sergt as well - some anomalies, but these are a bit less crude than just initials for surname & forname, I guess.
BTW Couldn't resist this one.......
