			<title><![CDATA[ Re: Some old books about the RIC  ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ A Ready Reckoner published in 1897, consisting of numerous pay rates for each rank of the force, in order to work out pay. Used by District Inspectors and above, it was put together by William Kelly, of the RIC Office in Dublin Castle.<br><br>Kelly was a senior civil servant. He joined the RIC office in 1880 aged 18, and was made Staff Officer in the Adminstration Division in 1904. He was Editor of the 'Hue &amp; Cry' from 1890, and died in service in April 1921 after 41 years in the RIC Office. He held the 1900, 1903 and 1911 Visit to Ireland medals.<br><br><img src="http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww174/PeterMc/RIC%20pot%20pourri/KellyReadyReck-1.jpg" alt="image"><br><br><br><br><br> ]]></description>
