William Kirwan was my great grandfather and his son Stephen my grandfather on my mother's side. The info that you have and which Peter supplied corresponds to my own findings.

William came from, as you say, Co Offaly (I think it may have been Geashill). The list of awards you mention is probably a photocopy of gallantry medals won by the RIC.
