Great Grandfather Michael Ashe

Dudes, I'm trying to follow my Great Grandfather. He was in RIC in 1870's. His Record No: was35771. I believe he was born in Kerry, probably on the Dingle Peninsula. He was stationed in Galway in1882 and in Tipperary in 1895 ( dates are an approximation).
That's it.......that's all I know. I have him on the 1901 Census and the 1911 Census , living in Limerick. But I guess I'm looking for anything else. I would appreciate any information......i know it's a long shot. thanks.

Request for Intelligence made to R.I.C. by British Army in 1915

I have a letter dated 1915 in fragments (from the National Archives) in which a request for intelligence from the Royal Irish Constabulary is obviously being requested about my Gt Grandfather who was in Dublin at that time. As the document is very badly damaged I am wondering if there may be any record of this when the letter eventually reached the recipient in Dublin. Possibly a more intact copy of the original letter, results of any enquiry etc? It is dated ?6.10.1915 and is addressed to District Inspector, Royal Irish Constabulary, Police Barracks, Dublin. My Gt Grandfather was Frederick Barnes. There would appear to have been a discrepancy in the attestation he had submitted and he was endeavouring to claim a pension of some sort. Any clues appreciated. Thank you.

1. Service Records of Constables and Other Ranks
You will need to have the individuals full name and approximate year of entry into the force. From that this forum may be able to help you
identify a service number (also known as the Registered Number). You can then apply to obtain his service record.

The record will show only basic information; other detail on the person has either been destroyed or is generally not kept in any publicly accessable format.
Here is an example taken from the RIC General Register:

Finding Nora Craig, wife and daughter of RIC

I knew Nora Craig was John J Murphy's mother and that she had died just after his birth according to letters from an aunt of John's. I knew he was
born in Woodford, Co Cork, who his parents were and that his father was constable from his birth record, the original which I have. Nora Craig's parentage,
which was totally unknown, came to me only after searching the RIC records and making note of the basic information mentioned as to "wife's
nativity" in the column. There was "Tipp N" written for the first marriage and Kerry written for the second marriage. I had known more of the
second wife and that she was truly from Co Kerry.

After transcribing the record, it took some reminding that I should go look for her birth record, which now was possible because of the entry describing
North Tipperary as her place of birth.

I used the site: <a target="_blank"...

For the first time user, creating a new post is a two stage process. You will first need to create a new Yuku account (this is free and takes a matter of seconds); then you will need to be approved by this forum's administrator before you can post. Again this is free but the response time depends on the availability of the administrator.
Here is some further detail on the steps you should follow:

1.
