			<description><![CDATA[ 554.<br>No Head Constabable, Constable, or Sub-Constable, is to marry without permission from the Inspector -General ; and this indulgence will only be granted to well conducted men, after two years service, and on the production of satisfactory references as to&nbsp;the conduct, character, and respectability of the famale to&nbsp;whom the Constable or Sub-Constable may wish to be united.<br>555.<br>The number of married&nbsp;men that shall be allowed in each county is not to exceed the proportion of one in every five of the county force, but as the number of married men in most counties is now considerably over that quota, the following rule must be observed until they are reduced to it, when the proportion alluded to exceeds one in four, one man may be allowed to marry for every three vacancies amongst the married men,<br>and when such proportion shall be under one in four, one man may be allowed to marry for every two vacancies amongst the married men in the force of each county,... ]]></description>

Sec. 39 Barrack Regulations.<br></u></strong>STATION BADGE :- A station badge is to be conspicuously fixed on the outside of each barrack, Station badges should be painted by the men in the month of May in each year in accordance with the pattern on cardboard which has been issued. The cost of paint, etc., is to be charged to the public.<br><strong><u>Finance Code,1913. Sec 598.<br></u></strong>PAINT. :-The actual expense of brushes and paint for marking clothing and for painting bedsteads, arms and accoutrement racks,<u> station badges</u> will, unless the articles are supplied from Depot be authorised to be paid on a bill being certified and furnished by the District Inspector to the County Inspector ; but the work is to be performed by the men of the Force.<br><u>A supply of pattern cards has been issued to counties, showing how station badges are to be painted,</u> and enamels and brushes for that purpose are, under present arrangements, supplied... ]]></description>

Medals awarded by the sovereign, constabulary and military are to be worn on the left breast only. Medals awarded by the Royal Humane Society; by the Chapter of the Order of St John of Jerusalem, and by the Royal National Life Boat Institution, for saving life; and by the Royal Society for the Protection of Life from Fire, are to be worn on the right breast.&nbsp;<br><br><strong><u>Code1080 </u>-</strong> When men distinguish themselves by gallant and meritorious acts so as to merit the award of medals from the above-named societies, such medals should be presented to them either on parade by the County Inspector or on a suitable public occasion.&nbsp;<br><br><strong><u>Code1081 </u>-</strong> All medals authorised by the Regulations should always be worn by both officers and men whenever they appear in full dress with tunicts. 			<description><![CDATA[ <strong><u>557. Cycling on Footpaths.</u></strong><br>- According to
the decision of the Court of Exchequer ( M'Kee and M'Grath-LawReports,
Ireland, vol. 30, page 41), a person riding a bicycle on a footpath is
guilty of obstruction, although no evidence can be produced of
obstruction having in fact, taken place. In every case of violation of
the law, by riding on the footpath, the District Inspector should
inquire into the circumstances of the case,and if necessary,seek
instructions from the County Inspector before instituting a prosecution.<br><br><strong><u>558. Police Cycling</u></strong>.<br>-The
Head or other Constable in charge,under the general sanction of the
County Inspector, may grant to a man of steady habits, when not
required or on&nbsp;duty, permission to be absent from his&nbsp; barrack for a
period not exceeding three hours for the purpose of riding his bicycle.

his marriage is to make a report thereof, in which he is required to
state the name of his wife previous to marriage,&nbsp;the date of marriage,

Conditions</u></strong><br>-No Head or other Constable is to marry without permission from the County Inspector.<br><br><strong><u>1066.</u></strong> No man can be allowed to marry a woman of doubtful moral character.<br><br><strong><u>1067.</u></strong>

Object, &amp;c, of The Fund<br>&nbsp;(a) </strong>The Burial Fund was founded, under the authority of the Lord Lieutenant, in 1891, and an account, under the above title is kept in connection there within the Bank of Ireland.<br>&nbsp;(b) The income of the Fund&nbsp;is derived from one, moiety of the net profits arising from the sale of ale and porter in the Canteen at the Depot, which moiety is lodged monthly in the Bank of Ireland to the credit&nbsp;of the Fund,and from dividends on sums invested.<br>&nbsp;(e) The expenditure consists of grants in aid of the funeral expenses of Head, and other, Constables, who die while serving.<br><br>722<strong>.
