Looking for Denis McCabe, known to be a constable living at 42 (either Elmwood or ) Fleetwood Terr, Derry, on 4th April 1896. Got this data from my grandmother's long form birth certificate. From what I've found to date, he hung up his uniform by the 1911 census. His wife's name was Bridget (Ward). I realize a lot of this may be repetitive, but anything I could find on Constable McCabe would be helpful.

Thanks again!

Tom

Hi, this is a bit of a long shot - I have so little information I am not sure anyone will be able to help! I am looking for my GGGfather Patrick McDonnell. The only information I have is from his son Francis McDonnell who was married in Belfast (shankhill road) in 1866 and he lists his father as Patrick McDonnell - Police Constable mother Margaret Lennon. On Francis death cert in glasgow in 1904 his father is listed as Patrick McDonald (note spelling) Police Constable Deceased. I cannot find a birth for Francis so although he was married in Belfast I cannot confirm that he was born there - the only other piece of information that might give me a clue to Patrick is that Francis moves to Newport, co Mayo in 1867 and brings his whole family up there until they move to Glasgow in 1899. Going by the 1901 and 1911 Census for Glasgow Francis would have been born around 1845, so I am guessing that Patrick would have been born around 1820.
Any information anyone can give me on...
